This mofo is steady trackin up the coast. We may be in a last minute situation to jump in the truck and head eastbound to LA or FLA. This really stinks.

Here is a link that I thought was worth posting so people realized just what this storm could do.

Best link with footage I have seen so far. The waves are already spraying over the 17' sea wall on the coast.

Cop on an ATV going down on the beach telling surfers to leave and gets hit by a small rouge wave. Almost lost his ATV.

"I'm drained. I'm beat up," said Steven Rushing, a commercial fishmerman who tried to ride out the storm with his wife and several family members, including his pregnant 17-year-old daughter, in their one-story brick home on Galveston Island. Early Saturday, he loaded his family into a 17-foot ski boat and headed for safety. The boat ran aground and the Rushings sprinted for safety, guided by lights from police responding to a 911 call made from the boat.

"My family is traumatized. I kept them here, promising them everything would be alright, but this is the real deal and I won't stay no more."

Jackass...of course the media constantly crying wolf is partly to blame...at least for knowingly misinforming the ignorant.

Of all the idiots, a comm fisher to do that. He should know how mother nature can change on a dime.

I like how he says that he ran his boat for 16 blocks before running it aground. Kind of screwed the pooch with the insurance company when he submits that claim saying "I don't know what happened to it" story. Sending the real story info out on the AP like that.

Well, that pretty much sucked. Boliver and Galveston got smashed to bits. We got real lucky on our side of the storm. Most of the Houston area is still without power. Those boys are working thier ass off, but the estimates are 50% to 75% of customers will have power next tuesday.

I have hot water and gas to cook on, but the real blessing was the cold front. It has been down to near 60 deg at night. We are all very thankful for that.

A lot of businesses are back open and we have plenty of gas, food and water. The lines are long, but the supply is holding. The neighborhoods are really comming together to help each other out. Up at my buddies place, we were able to run extension cords across the street to help out. Not an option in my neighborhood, but we helped each other clean up and I gave the family next door some food that needed to be cooked and eaten.

All in all, it could have been worse. But Galveston, Bolivar and northeast of there took a real bad hit. My prayers go out to you folks in that area.
