Anybody tell me where I can get some in a hurry in the Tampa Bay Area. I need enough to make a few wishbones.

I believe Tackle Shack in Pinellas Park sells it by the foot.

I have some if you need a couple of feet. You can try West Marine. If they don't have 3mm spectra, you can pick up some 1/8 dacron

Yep, I know the California guys use the Dacron covered Spectra for some reason, pretty much exclusivly,(the colored mantle stuff) and since Dacron has very bad abrasion resistance, it needs to be changed often. But in a pinch either solid Nylon-some stretch or Dacron-no stretch, braid will work. I have had Spectra wishbones that are solid Spectra braid the 1500 lb stuff and there is no wear at all, and some are 3 years old. I order that from Neptonics. I reuse my cord wishbones. Dacron will fuzz up real quick.

Thanks Ken,

I drove over to Tackle Shack and picked some up. Great selection of the stuff. My West Marine doesn't carry it.

If you get it from West Marine, make sure you get the solid braid Spectra, all one color) not the double braid, as it has a straight core of a Spectra and some other fibre mix(unknown what it is), and an outer braid of Dacron(polyester) 2 or more colors-or white with little stitches of color, which wears out real quick. This is the stuff that the Cali guys use for some reason. It does not last at all. The polyester outside braid jacket will wear out very quickly-quicker than rubber, plus with the 2 part-outer jacket and inner core, it will not be tight.
