What type of diving are you doing? How often, how deep and your budget?

Nothing but spearfishing almost every weekend. Mostly dive Rec limits but do go deeper sometimes... I can work with the budget.

Hey Aaron,

What happened to your BC? My brother has a Zeagle Stiletto and its awesome. I dove it a couple of weeks ago and its very comfortable. It has plenty of D-rings to attach stuff. Its kind of pricey though. He traded his Ranger in for a good amount to get the price down....

I dive a Halcyon Stainless Steel Backplate and Wing, far more streamlined than any bc out there, and a lot more comfortable.

I teach out of Divers Supply in Macon and we have a new updated BC that just came out......it is the most adjustable-functional BC I have ever seen. It comes with weight pockets as well as a changeable belt to change over to tec diving. It comes with either a built in stainless or aluminum backplate. It is rated a 60 pound lift capacity ( but actually lifted more ).

I was looking to replace my BC, since I had literally wore my previous one slap out. I tried our new BC and was floored by it's buoyancy qualities. ( and I am full cave certified ) ( and used a dive-rite trans pac for cave diving....till now )

I'm not giving this recommendation because I teach for them, I'm doing it cause I was that impressed by that BC. ( I bought one right after the first time I tried it )

Almost forgot to add the name of it.........it's the SeaElite E.B.S.:smthumbup:

My opinion FWIW: Avoid weight integrated BC's, or at least don't use that feature, use a rubber weight belt. They are a pain in the azz to handle once you add a steel tank and pony bottle.

Other people have to handle your gear, and they may even have to lift it over the side of the boat.

There will be 2 aluminum backplates, 2 aluminum single tank adapters, 2 stainless steel backplates, and a stainless steel single tank adapter on the prize table this Sunday at the SPO. They were donated by Hammerhead Backplates(new sponsor). www.hammerheadbackplates.com
