Lets hear your arguements, whats the difference between using the stock 2 bands, or a single band. I got the gun really cheap, but it needs new bands, I dive out of miami on the reefs (15-50ft) and occasionally blue water.
Freedvr1,
I have a RA130 Tuna open 2 band muzzle and RA composite reel with Qline and like 2 bands better because;
1. I can use 1 band when hunting on the reef so I dont hit rock as hard and bend a shaft.
2. I can use 1 band on smaller or closer targets like hogs on the reef.
3. I can load 1 of 2 bands faster/easier than 1 big band.
4. I can power up using both bands for bigger or further targets.
IMHO a 2 band gun gives the spearo more versatility. Using 1 band of 2 gives you a much less powerful shot than 1 big band when powering down is better and using both bands givers you much more power than 1 big band when you need the power/range. I like to use 1 gun as much as possible [within limits]and with a 2 band gun I can hunt reefs and bluewater which seems like the same kind of hunting you do. I didn't see that you wrote what muzzle is on your 120. The new RA 2 band open muzzle is like $25. most places and is my choice. There is a new muzzle line guide out also. Some spearos have a lot of trouble getting the old muzzle off so if you're going to a new muzzle let your LDS switch the muzzles. Just my opinions. Others here have much more experance than me. Let me know if I can help further.

I use a 130 RA and a single band 19mm setup with a 7mm-9/32 shaft and closed muzzle.
I think you get the perfect balance with this setup.
You can still power down by lowering the band to the first notch,It is also faster to reload(for me),You also dont have to a have the extra band dangling in front(blocking vision) when you are trying to shoot at low power (I hate this thing with doable band guns).
But for me best of all is the perfect accuracy......
Anyways before I sound like some kind of single band sales man,I would say try the double and single band setups and see what you like best.
Then and only then you will know for sure whats best for you.
Good luck

Thanks for the info, now... open or closed muzzle?
2 band open muzzle unless you can carry everything with you to tie a new band together while out spearin. I carry spare band in the yak dry box. I had the same hate for the 2nd band flopping around and someone here taught me to 'just tuck it under the stretched/loaded band' = no more flopping 2nd band. Also good advise is what Coral sniper said, "try both and see what you like best". Good hunting. Hope you like your RA as much as I love mine. I just bought my second RA130 Tuna 2 band open!
