Finally got out and stuck a few fish...Not much to brag about - However the bullhead was my biggest to date.
The Rob Allen Signature Series Carbon is SUPER quiet and puts it right in the "stone zone" almost every time.
Heres a few pics from the other day - :yawn2:

Are you still only allowed to shoot white bass, yellow bass (striped), rock bass, crappie, bluegill, perch, pumpkinseed (sunfish) and bullheads?

In Wisconsin you can spear Carp, Suckers, Garfish, Bowfin, Drum, Shads, Burbot, White Bass, Chubs, Cisco, Yellow Bass, Bullheads, Yellow Perch, White Perch, Bluegills, Sunfish, Crappies - And Rock Bass - (I may have missed one or two species)
No game-fish are allowed to be speared what-so-ever...But that COULD change with the right group or "club" and lobbying the state at it's annual "DNR Spring Hearings."
Several "other" inland states allow the taking of some species of game-fish by "skin-diving" AKA freediving...
The state could sell tags and or spearfishing liceses to those wishing to participate...Making it a winning situation for both spearing enthusiast, the state and it's resources.
It would be an "up-hill" battle but very possible to win. We DO have a voice.
I'm thinking seriously about competing in the "Freshwater Nationals" next year...I'd love to stick some game-fish...But unfortunately "for now" the great state of Wisconsin does not allow me to do so.

I grew up in Chicago and caught thousands of pounds of Salmon: Coho, chinook, and Steelhead up to 35 lbs. I'd love to drop in Lake Michigan and sling a few monsters today.

Heading out to Lake Geneva in a little while - Hoping to find some gigantic carp - And possibly some fish for the "pan" too. I'll report back later!

Psssst - Hey Yuquingeng2005 - Not too many on THIS website are all that interested in PENIS, or your joke's. I see you've hi-jacked no less than 8 threads with boring jokes - This thread and all the others you hi-jacked are about spearfishing - not penis...Go away! Or at the very least post where you are supposed to be posting...Not just on random threads where some of us are trying to have a "forum" about spearfishin'!

Stuck some pretty nice 'gills today along with a few perch & a rock bass or two. They'll be some mighty fine eatin'! They'll go down good with a few brewski's tomorrow afternoon! :fish::beer: I love bluegills!
Got me a bad case of "mask face" in this photo...Not that I'm any prettier otherwise!
Nice day...Not too many boats. Water temp was 63 degrees - droppin' a little each day. Fish of all sizes are scattered everywhere - Shallow & deep. Most of the bigger bluegills were suspended at about 12 foot in 25 f.o.w.
Saw quite a few big carp too...Probably 35-40 pounder's...I'm looking for a 50 pounder or better though! My biggest so far this year is 43 pounds.
Biggest 'gill in the bunch was almost 11 inches!

Went lookin' for the "big one" (carp)for a few hours today...They were gone from thier usual haunts. I did find some decent sized Yellow Perch and some Sunfish too. All of the bigger ones were down on the bottom in 30 feet of water...Alot of small ones in shallower - Some gigantic Northern Pike were up in the shallower water actively feeding on small bluegills.
Tried to get pics of the Northern's feeding but my UW camera housing fogged up after I changed out the batteries  Must've gotten it a little wet? None of the "feeding" pics turned out. It sure was cool to watch though. Holy shit them things are fast!
Water was up to 57 degrees today! Yahoooooo! Actually kind of warm for this time of year!
Here are a few pics that "kinda" turned out. The Perch one did anyhow. The biggest Perch was close to 13 inches. Pretty nice for an "inland lake" Perch!
I'm still learning about my camera...Takes shitty pics outta the water if it's still wet I see!

Heres a pic of the fishies "off" of the stringer! Just before they got filleted...Me & my family have had nice fish fry Fridays almost every week this year!

Same old stuff yesterday...Some nice perch again too! Never did find the crappie's again either. I know where they'll be come spring though!
Warmest water I found was a brisk 43 degrees!!! Brrrrrr! I got cold after about an hour and a half and had to get out. My hands just were'nt "working" very good anymore!
This will be propbably be my last time out until I get an open cell - Should be ordering it in January! Custom open cell from Diveskins. :fish:Until then the fishies will be safe from my spear. I will however be out ice fishing!
I may hit a warm water discharge area in Madison though...We'll see!

Well? Did you hit the warm water discharge? I have fished that area with a pole, but never speared it (of course I have never speared anything around here....) Anyway, you got me curious and I am pretty sure I have seen the stacks smoking.....

a08885 I have'nt gone there yet...New wetsuit in January...I'll try then maybe. I've been ice fishin' a few times lately though...Fun but I miss diving...
Winter is "getting old" the last few years - I need to find a way "back" to the ocean somehow...She's calling me! 5-7 years I'm hoping...I'll be there...I always loved San Diego. Spent almost 6 years stationed (Coronado/North Island) there in the Navy. Maybe I'll move to S.C. or Florida? Who knows...Costa Rica sounds nice too! Or Baja Mexico somewhere?
Shaft - More pics & stories come ice-out!
