two 9/16 bands is good.
One wrap of line is normal for euro guns.
Keep that loading pad on,it will save your chest.
I have the sporasub black viper and it is a excellent gun for the price!
Your aspic should serve you well.
Good Luck

I had a 75 cm aspic and installed the hammerhead reef muzzle. I used two 9/16" bands, cut to around 16" and 18", and found that to be optimal for me. As for the loading pad, I liked it, but it eventually broke, which I was told was not uncommon on that gun. After a few years the line release broke as well, and since I couldn't get replacement parts for it, that ended the gun's life. Be careful about keeping your shooting line too tight...

I used that gun for NorCal rockfish, but when it broke it was at a freshwater carp/squawfish tourney in which I was reloading and shooting as fast as I could. I was using one wrap of 200# mono and a single, 5/8" band. I had an open muzzle on the gun, so I had to wrap the line to hold the shaft in place. About halfway through the tourney the line release broke, and since I had previously removed both alligator clips, (they had cracked early on), I had no way to shoot the gun.
Honestly I was probably just being too rough with the line release and it was my fault it broke. Too bad, because I liked that old gun.
