Would appreciate opinions on pro's and con's of the three different woods used on guns. Are there performace issues between the types. Thanks

There are way more then three types used....I am assuming you mean teak, mahogany, and padauk(used in biller/ss guns)? Also are you going to build your own gun or buy a gun? If you are buying a gun like biller/ss types, I would just go with whatever was cheaper. For building your own gun go with teak. Its easy to work with, and only needs an oil finish. rlc5925 10-08-2008, 05:21 PM Which three? If you are buying a gun like biller/ss types, I would just go with whatever was cheaper. For building your own gun go with teak. Its easy to work with, and only needs an oil finish. The three I'm talking about are the ones commonly offered in biller, etc. Teak, mahogany and padauk. No intentions of building my own gun but if purchasing a gun from a dive shop is the type of wood an inportant consideration in the performance of the gun. Thanks for the reply. deepdestroyer 10-08-2008, 06:14 PM I'm not an expert on biller type guns, I actually don't even own one. But I don't think the type of wood in these guns will effect performance at all. |
