Before Jeff Alberts headed off to Australia, we decided to go diving. I had been suffering from a sinus infection, and bronchitis (which I am still battling) so I decided to stay home and paint my toenails and let the guys go dive without me for a change. I waited for them to come home, the grins on their faces told me they did well. They did. All within a hour of hitting the water. Two days later Derek Hara got his first Uku! Damn sinus infection...:banghead: One of the Uluas should have been mine! :D There are some decent Ukus out there, it's only a matter of time.... Hey RigDvr - when you and da kine coming back? :D

Hey guys! :toast:
I have been so busy these days, I will try and keep in better touch. Let me know if you plan a trip to the BI.

Here is another Ulua, although it was not a shore dive, but he cast from shore (a cliff). It weighed about 120lbs.

Hi Angela thanks for the pictures and report. Awesome jobfish Rick has there! Hope you get better soon and start terrorizing the fish again.

Travis Kashiwa has the Hawaii State Record with a 144.2lb beast. This is also the current World Record as well, I think.

Yes, new site : www.aimritespearfishing.com

I finally jumped in with Rick, Derek and Andrea a couple weeks ago. I have finally beat my illness. Did OK with uhu, kalis and a joe. Rick saw a monster Ulua cruising along the ledge, probably about 80lb+ but was quick to catch on and scoot off into the deeps. Derek checked the ulua house but there was no one home. I had a ball stalking Mu with Rick - they are hella smart!
