Had to re-up on fillets. Fed 6 adults a bluegill fish fry on friday! :D

The bigger fish were'nt around thier usual haunts. Got a few decent perch and a few gills (sunfish) . Only one really nice one (bluegill/sunfish) at a little over 10 inches. Missed easy shots on a few really nice sized perch too! In fact missed one of 'em twice! :banghead: Water's gettin colder - 60 degrees and droppin' fast. :( The carp are just lying around in the deeper weeds now - Saw none much over 40 pounds -I'm lookin' for a 50 pounder...Or a new state record! :2gunsfiring_v1: - Gonna have to take out some big 'ol egg laden mama's in the spring 'fer sure.

Here's the result of a few hours spearfishin' in Wisconsin's cold, clear, fall water's -

Freakin' cool.

You call those bluegill, eh? Here's what we call bluegill down here. Does that cold water make their spots come out? :)

Some people call 'em by their proper name...But some of us Wisconsinite's just call all fish in the "sunfish" family bluegill's - There are atleast 4 different ones that call Wisconsin home. The "sunfish" is by far the most colorful! They all taste the same though - Terrific!

"For practical purposes" any type of sunfish can be entered into "most" icefishing contest or tournaments as a bluegill.
