That is funny. :)

I'd watch what we say, though. Lord knows Ronald would love to accuse this site of being the culprit.

I get the same thing. Glad to hear its not just me.

It appears to be fixed now.

I did notoice while I was there that the big story was Tony using trimix to dive 280' to shoot a 4-5 pound scamp. The trimix must be working since he didn't leave the fish at the bottom this time.

Gee, that really sucks. I mean, the hacker could really do some damage you know. Just think: what if the hacker decided to erase the technical spearfishing dive to 280' for a 4 pound scamp? Or worse yet, erase 200 of Ironhead's daily wisdom posts???

I don't know about you guys, but the only thing worse would be the end of the world as we know it.

Hmmm, too bad they got hacked. I just wasn't sure if it was their site or my computer .... at first I thought it was an advertisement.

Wow, this is catastrophic. If he has to go to a backup copy of SB from yesterday, their is a good chance he could lose 8, maybe 10 posts..... The Horror!

Baaahhhhh ..... would hate to miss any of the technical posts by Ronald... the story of him sneaking up on that Sea Cucumber at 280' was highly enlightening

I checked out the site and the security is pretty bad. There are several directories that have also been compromised and it could have been a LOT worse and still can be. I used to be a security administrator for a large ISP and all I can say is you get what you pay for in a webhost. If you pay a few hundred to a no name webhosting company you can expect things like that to happen as most of the support people set the security to the minimal setting just to get sites to work. Unfortunately webhosting companies are in the thousands and only a handful even review security or have the expertise to truly lockdown websites correctly. I wish I could say that this board was using one of them :(

Is just me or did he come out of the woodwork recently? Seems like he posts on EVERY damn thread over there

I got the hacked message at work and was worried at first it was my pc network at work....would not have been good with 4500 patients info not to mention we do online ordering and bills and stuff. I'm an idiot when it comes to how hacking works so I was just relieved to see it was sb!

That's what he did a while back, too. Ronald asked him to slow it down a little bit, he got upset and that's when he quit the board.
Seriously - he was averaging over 15 posts a day. Get a LIFE.

Everything seemed to be back to normal last night, but it looks like SB got hacked AGAIN. This time, in addition to hacker's message, there is alsothis obnoxious music that you can't turn off. You have no choice but to close the page.

It didn't get hacked again the problem was never fixed and after checking it still isn't. Like I said it COULD have been much worse and still can be.

I'm not even seeing or hearing whatever it is that you guys are talking about. Was this music thing gone by about 0700 Pacific time?

And yesterday, all I saw wrong was a big blank square at the top of the page for much of the day.

Maybe it has to do with how secure a particular PC is. I have all kinds of security measures running on mine and all I saw was a white square and no music.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I'm running a Mac and its behind a router. Maybe that explains why I'm missing all the drama.

Me either, I went over and it looked just fine. I do use Mozilla Firefox as my browser, maybe it's a browser issue.

Hacked again. I don't know about you not being able to see this because of your security. I highly doubt it.

The only thing that I saw missing this morning was the list of who was online and the stats (# of members, posts, threads, etc.) on the front page. That stuff has been missing for a couple days.

It was hacked until around 7:45AM. Same as the last time. Black box, music and lighting bolts. I never have seen the wrtiting.

Its all there for me, but there are blank boxes to the left of each stats or birthday box. I had to come back to the similar stuff here in order to be able to tell the difference. Its all there, but just shifted to the right.

Thanks Bill - you're right. It's WAY right on my screen, and I did not see it because I didn't think to scroll right.

Thanks Bill - you're right. It's WAY right on my screen, and I did not see it because I didn't think to scroll right.

I probably wouldn't have found it if I had to scroll. It was just an inch or so to the right on my screen.

All this reminds me that I don't really understand all this web site stuff. I assume that everyone is seeing the same thing I do, but it seems to depend on brand of computer, operating system, etc.

I was particularly surprised a year or so ago when I was on the phone with someone trying to walk him through the process of posting a photo. He was on a PC and I was on a Mac, and the steps and names of links to click on were actually different. His was close enough so that I was able to get him through it after he read me choices that he was seeing, but I would have thought that after we got into a web site, it wouldn't matter which computer or operating system we were using.

A good example of why I don't provide much information to web forums (or anyone online), such as birthday, last name, primary email address etc. I also use a different password and login at different websites.
