Default Honda 4 stroke service?

Just had a 100hr service done on my 150, it ended up being about 2.5x the $ compaired to my old 2 stroke? given they changed the impeller that I use to do every 2 years or 200 hrs but that is what the marina said the warranty reqd. so my question is what on average are you all payin for 100hr/yearly service for 4 strokes in that HP range? I think I may need to find another service dept.

I do the services on my 150 Yamaha myself for around $110. Takes about an hour. Had a friend who is a tech show me and could not believe how simple it really was.

First thing I would do is order a shop manual, I paid the $$$ bucks for the requires service to keep warranty but now I do all my self like water pumps, oil changes, plugs, filters fuel and oil,and now thermostat's .
All is easy once you do it once any questions shoot me a pm I would be glad to help on any if you want to do yourself one time.

Thanks Jamie, yea I know there is not much to it. just trying to gauge what other shops are charging. They hit me for almost $700.00 for some oil, plugs....seemed a little high to me. guess I have to deal with it for the next 5 years to keep the warranty.

You can keep the warranty in tact by doing work yourself, just keep a log and receipts that support the upkeep.

Oh, and $700 seems a gross overcharge for a 100 hour service.

not out to bad mouth any one, they can charge what they want, it was posted on the wall and they let me know up front. The service guy who works on my boat also did a lot of custum work putting the electronics together when I bought the boat 5 months ago and did a great job. when i dropped the boat off the price seemed high but i already drove it all the way to the marina and wanted it back by the weekend.
