Wow, that's a LOT of work for such a useless boat. Sounds like the guy is wound a little too tight, IMO.

My first thought is of all the guys that built "custom cars"... discounting the time, and just adding up the actual cost, they could have bought an exotic car!
But, it is a project (and I understand that well) and it kept him out of trouble,,, so why "knot"? |

Definitely looks like he did it more for the fact that he wanted a project than anything else. Just a perk that he gets to go boating now. I bet he could sell it and make a good little bit off of someone else that really has no idea what a boat is for.
