The Sun Coast Seals Dive Club is saddened by the passing away of a long time member and friend to all, Art Pearson. Since the early 1970’s, Art shared his time and energies with his family and members from all clubs in the FSDA. Art was loved by many and respected by all.

As one of the very first FSDA members to have ever received the Florida Skin Divers Association’s “ Life Time Achievement Award”….Art’s love of our Sport, placed him in a unique position to promote diving and set the foundation of the FSDA, making it the outstanding organization it is today. His leadership and sportsmanship has placed him in our memory forever.
Art will be greatly missed by all.

thanks for sending this out. Art was a very special man. When I started being an occasional club rep for the FSDA back in the mid 1990s, Art was there to give me advice and support. I wrote the monthly club reports for the SPUCs and Art always took the time to give me a call before the deadline date to make sure the SPUCs were in the bulletin. I know it doesn't sound like much, but it meant alot to me. Art was always reaching out to me to help me understand what going on and how he could help me be a better representative for the SPUCs. He probably didn't know it back then, but it was his support and encouragement that led me to become an officer and eventually the president of the FSDA for so many years.
