Default Dennis "Denny" Thompson, gone but never forgotten

Denny passed away after a short illness on 2/20/13. He was a lover of the sea and brought scuba and spearfishing to hundreds in central Pennsylvania. As the "D" in "D&R Divers" he was a sponsor for the St. Pete Open and led the Pennsylvania delegation into the tournament. A few years back he finished 4th in the hogfish division, not bad for a diver who spends 5 months a year shoveling snow. Denny was a man who loved life and adventure and experienced cage diving with great whites in South Australia and spearfishing in NC, the Keys and the middle grounds. At his service today, it was standing room only, and it became clear that he was loved by all that knew him. We in Central PA stand in tribute to Denny for showing us how to live with dignity and opening up a new underwater world for us. Thank you Denny!!

Sorry for your loss. And what sounds like a great loss to the dive community. May his memory always be a blessing.

I'm sorry for you loss, I'm really glad that I had the opportunity to meet Denny. His presence and participation at the spo will be missed.

Denny was a great guy and I had fun and honored that I had the opportunity diving with him in the grounds. He enjoyed participating in the St. Pete Open so much he had to support it by being a sponsor even though he would benefit NOTHING because his shop was in PA. He just enjoyed being part of it.

The dive community lost a great guy. RIP

Denny thought the world of you Jason and always asked about you and how you were doing-he loved the opportunity of being on the Brickyard and sharing the thrill of the hunt-Thanks for the heartfelt comments.
