Sounds great and I'm glad our Rep is bringing our concern to the floor. With that being said the proof will be WHO is assigned as our {rep********** in NOAA for rec fishing and their credentials. I vote Denny!

"Dr. Lubchenco is an outstanding and accomplished environmental scientist with a proven ability to communicate, lead a dynamic team, and inspire action," White House Council on Environmental Quality Chair Nancy Sutley said. "Dr. Lubchenco joins a distinguished group of scientific leaders in the Obama administration that will ensure that science plays its proper role in shaping policy."

With a budget of $4 billion, and 12,800 employees in every U.S. state and locations around the world, NOAA understands and predicts changes in the Earth’s environment, from the depths of the ocean to the surface of the sun, and conserves and manages our coastal and marine resources.

Denny was my first thought too. But he's not kiss ass enough to fit in the "machine".

I do too Jamie, hope it's not just a way for them to get the pressure off of themselves and have sombody to refer all your recreational calls and emails too... As an administrator, I can see how she would like to only have to listen to a a single concise position formulated from one of her own appointing then the many outraged that would otherwise reach her desk

Excellent. I am going to write him today and personally thank him for taking up the cause of Floridas beleaugured recreational anglers, who have been repeatedly and unfarily kicked to the curb by the anti-fishing environmental lobby and the system.
IMO every member of SFP should, not matter how short. You can bet the enviro sector will.

So, NOAA is going to "Layer in" more management, Senior Policy Official, so the net effect will be a demotion of all in the agency. Can't for the life of me, see how that will improve communications.
