The weather is looking sketchy for this Friday's tournament. We will probably look at the rain date the following week.

    Dang, I guess it's a little late to pre-register.

Is it officially moved to the rain date, or are you waiting till we get a closer forecast? What I didn't want was another week of 12.9" grunt nightmares.

The Kings and Cobias are in. We got several this past Sunday. The ledges were loaded with bait and visability was 30 foot in 60 ft of water. This Friday is definitely looking blown ou.

It may change the plans of some who are dedicated to shoot both and there are a few, but that's how the chips fall for the early tournament season.

On the bright side there looks to be a really nice groundswell for a Saturday morning dawnpatrol. Can't pass up a late winter season surf session on the Gulf before spring flatness sets in.

I think it could be awesome for both events. I know some guys that are coming in town for TBSC that can't usually make states or vice versa because they can't get time or money for two road trips.

    Better buy more shafts

    I lost another shaft yesterday.

No worries. I was think typing, which often ends badly!

Probably only rough for the poor SOBs that Freedive from 7am-4pm...only to attend another Capt Meeting a few hours later at 8:30pm and then do it all over again the next day from Dusk to Dawn.

The tournament will be held unless there is a small craft advisory in effect. I do not like it, but that is the plan.

The way the weather has been this year, we just need to line up a fleet of RIBs so we can hold the tournament regardless of wind. The format can be 4 hours slogging through to your spot, 15 minutes diving, and 4 more hours of slop back to the weigh-in.

    Default Looking for a Ride

I sold my boat and have been out of state in NC the last couple of years. I'm back and would like to dive the tournament, if anyone is looking to put a team together. I'd be ready to dive even if the conditions are sub par. I can help with spots / game-plan if necessary. Gimme a shout Aaron Schmidt 813.810.8897
