As some of you may know we have finally left LLL (Land-Locked Lakeland) and have returned home to St. Pete. We close on our house in Lakeland a week from today, it can't get here soon enough so we can be done with that County. I apologize to Poke County people, 9 years there was more than enough.

Anyways, during the Open this year I knew one of the SPUC members was going to have a gift certificate on the table as he does every year for his moving company, Doug's Hourly Muscle. I had the 127th pick (14 lb red) and was happy to see his $450 gift certificate still sitting there. Called them on Monday and scheduled a pick up for this past Saturday. Jackie gave us some great tips on packing (it's been 7 years since I packed and I've never used movers) and then called again this Friday to confirm that we were still on. Great customer service.

The guys showed up right on time and within minutes the two of them were loading, and quick!! I had everything boxed and broken down (beds, etc.) and within 1.5 hours they were shutting the door on the van. I couldn't believe how quickly they loaded, padded, and secured our household goods and furniture. They also supplied us with 10 wardrobe boxes for our clothes and linens. If you haven't used these to transport clothing from your closets (on hangers) you're doing it wrong. They were money!

The guys beat me back to St. Pete as I had to tie up a few loose ends before heading out (turn off water, etc.). By the time I arrived they had a third of the truck unloaded and boxes in the appropriate rooms. In less than an hour our furniture was arranged and the truck was completely unloaded.

In less than 4 hours they (just 2 guys) had loaded, padded, and secured our household goods and furniture, drove an hour in the rain to St. Pete and then unloaded and placed everything. Not a scratch or broken item. I was floored by their professionalism, experience, and work ethic. These guys never stopped!

My bill........$10. And that's because I bought one of the wardrobe boxes because I still have one guest closet that I forgot about in Lakeland. Needless to say those guys got a FAT tip.
