Default Last grouper before the close 1-29

Since we haven't had a good weekend in a long time and with the closure coming up I was feeling much to sick to work on firday. So Russ and I decided to brave the forecast and cold for one last shot at grouper before the closure. We ran out to some #'s in 30' off of Dunedin that had been stacked with gags and big hogs and rolled in. Temperature was 58, and I forgot the bottoms to my 7mil farmer john. . . little bit chilly.. The waves were about what they predicted and the visibilty wasn't great at around 6-7 ft. All of the fish that had been swimming around carelessly before are now tucked way, way back in the undercuts of the ledges. One grouper decided to make a break for it and that was his mistake. Not the 30+ inchers that we had been seeing, but at 24" he was big enough for the dinner table. The big hog (21") just showed enough tail through a 1ft hole on top of the ledge for a shot. Total for the day was one gag, 3 hogs 14-21", one snapper (15") and a sheepshead (14"). We also decided to grab some pen shells for dinner. With me floating up bags to Russ we had enough for a few lbs of meat in no time. Looks like we'll be watching the grouper swim by while we shoot hogs for awhile.

Thanks dude. lol, yeah the reports I had got said the temp was in the mid 60s so I didn't bring the bottom because my legs float when I wear them. After an hour bottom time on one drop I was freezing my off.
