Default Sarasota report 5/15

Put together a crew for the wcc tourny that included Seadiver73,buildingcoolers and firespear0505. First time having Ryan on the boat but handled himself well but just has to get his chumming before a dive down...not after a dive! Plan was to head SW but with a solid 2'-4' roll out of the SE we opted to head due W. 1st drop was Ryan and Chris to find a good 30' vis on the bottom with a 67* temp in 100'. They reported several grouper and lots of short AJ. Greg and I back dove to get a few gags and snappa. If anyone is at D6 this week I am short two 65" R O fin shafts. One still has the blue mono quick load line that the swivel that attaches to the gun snapped.

Moved into 75' to find almost TTB with a slight haze in the bottom 15'. Slight thermo at that last 15' also. All kinds of bait, kings, bonita and yes the sharks are back in full force. Shot a few gags and went to mid water to try and get the aj to come in but only thing that wanted the gutts were the 2 8' bulls. Again the SS kept them a bay as they would not push through the 20; zone. Kept charging them untill the bugged out long enough to put a line shaft from the SS RX5 (that I had on the boat as a backup) into a large cuda. Very smooth trigger on that gun for sure but not giving up the KUDANA anytime soon

Moved into 50' to find TTB and not thermo ! About time. Found plenty of hogs, snappa and gags but all trigger and sheep were 10' max???? Did brop Ryan in 28' for a quick sheep recon but none were home. He reported only about 15' vis .

Got to dock and hauled ass to the weighin at Bellaire ramp where they had things rolling along nicely! Great job on managing the event everyone!

It was a great day on the boat with Steve. I'm bringing ziploc bags next time to save some of my chum for when it is needed

I did get hit pretty good with a jelly fish. The back of my neck was on FIRE!! It was pretty hot, hurt enough i was contemplating the golden shower....... then I remembered something that someone had told me about scrapping it with a credit card. I saw a knife that was semi-clean, and used it to lightly scrape the back of my neck, just enough to scratch the surface. I was surprised at the instant relief, within 5 mins it was just a slight burn. Worked like a charm......next time ur buddy asks you to pee on his jelly fish stings....don't tell him about the knife trick until after

Chris and Greg, it was nice meeting the both of you as well. Hope to do it again.

Another trade secret, it's not the piss that makes the burn go away, it's the heat. I prefer the pisser from the motor rather than one of my buddies. Got stuck on my hand by a scorpionfish, put it under the motor pisser and was good to go in 20 minutes.
