Got an itch this morning to kill something and hooked up with ChuckD thru the planet and 6:45 Am. We were on the water by 7:30 heading out to a new number that Charlie wanted to check out.

What a drop! As I hit the bottom, I did a quick scan and it was literally crawling with fish! I scalped the first grouper and he shook the shaft, but there were plenty more where that came from. I ended up with 4 nice hogs, 2 triggers 2 mango's and 3 grouper on that drop, I couldn't put another fish on my stringer so I had to come up!

Mike had a great stringer as well and we were on our way to filling the fish box.

It was flat calm all day, viz was 20-30ft, temp was around 80 and the fish are moving shallow.

Final tally was...

15 nice hog's
5 grouper
8 mango's
3 triggers

We were back at the dock by 2:20 Pm.

Went out with Chuck before and he is a great captain. Puts you on the fish and what a great boat he has.

here's some pics...noaa said 2 foot, it may have been 2 inches.

first drop was in 59ft, second on the meisner crane, third in 55ft, fourth in 55ft, and we finished on the rocks in 45ft...

vis pretty nice at 30ft, medium gulfcoast current early, lessened thru the day. the inshore hogs are plentiful and good sized....we've hit our limit the last 4 trips...and the gags are moving either south or in or both.

huntinfish whacked 'em good today...he may need to borrow an extra stringer for next time. really enjoyed his company.
