Default 4th of july and Debby

What do you guys think the conditions will be like in the big bend based on the current weather? Is visibility going to suck?

Depends on how fast the storm moves. Right now it's pretty slow moving which is allowing for the large amounts of rain.

the speed at which the storm itself is moving and the amount of rain it has produced, assumption=NOT GOOD . I am hoping down this way(ft myers/port charlotte) that by this weekend we will have a shot at least to get some gags in the boat sunday. PLEASE weather Gods! Let it happen!!!

Default Vis

We are getting blown out here in Bradenton had to pull all three boats. 3' storm surge and nasty wind gusts.

The manatee river is dumping a ton of nastiness into the bay which will make its way out to the gulf.

Hoping it clears up by the holiday.

The Southern Open should be interesting next weekend!

I prefer to get mentally prepared using clam chowder. At least it attracts the fish!

The amount of rain is obviously one concern, the other huge factor is the sustained storm surge. 10 to 14 ft seas on the grounds buoy is big. It will take some time for the inshore sediment to settle out. But when it starts........the wrecks are going to be HOT.

Default This is not good.

We might loose coastal diving for the entire month of July.

Can I bring my speargun?

--- or---

a toothpick and rubber band? I may need to rig the toothpick up with dental floss. I hear those bluegills fight pretty good when you get them with stick them.
