Multiple man-o-war sightings out of Stump Pass yesterday. It's been a few years since i've seen them here. If you're heading out our way be carefull and look up. One of these guys put my grandfather in the hospital down in the keys.

This one did not have his tentacles extended. I'm guessing due to the previous days high seas.

Keep in mind they can stretch them out up to 30 feet when hunting!

yeah, those things are narly...I was out with Potshot and Gixxer back in the fall and we ween quite a few that day. Gixxer even got one wrapped around his legs, thankfully the wetsuit was on and protecting him.

Yep, they are nasty. I almost ran into one when I was getting picked up by the boat.
Probably saw a half dozen on Saturday.

Actually Wicked those ones that we saw were not Man O wars. Man o wars have a blown up head way smaller than the 5 gallon bucket sized jellies that we saw. Tentacles are still long as hell. Man O wars float above the surface, and the one that got wrapped around my leg was completely submerged. I think the heads of man O wars have a head maybe bigger than a softball. Dont quote me on those dimms though.

We saw tons of Man of Wars out of Pensacola Pass this past weekend. I ended up with a tentacle on my wrist. Stung pretty good for a while.

They are pretty bad down here in the keys also. I was being dragged behind the boat a couple weeks ago and i was rakes across my wrist by one. WHen i started to feel it i looked at my wrist and saw the blue tentacle arcoss it and i rubeed it off fast! But it still hurt like a mothatF**** my hand started closing from the contractions io was feeling in my wrist! IT sucked but gradually went away and then it just started to itch after that day.
