Went out with Redneck, and George, couldn't get on the spot that I found alot of gags on 2 weeks ago, charter was sitting right on it, so we had to hit some other spots. Cold, cloudy and 2-3 going out and built up to 4 and blowing good when we got out to 60ft. First dive got down on the reef had about 10-15 ft vis and saw alot of bait fish, not seeing alot of gamefish, I finally see a red grouper and take him out, right as I was done stringing him I look up and see a gag that must have come to check the situation but had seen enough and was skinning out, I watched him duck under a ledge so I loaded up and went to see if he was there or if he back doored it, look under the ledge and he's right there so I stone him. As I'm trying to retreive him I feel a tap on the back. Turn around hoping to see George so he could help with the fish that was deep under the ledge and find the TAX MAN instead he was about 9ft. in size and heading away from me but turned and headed back so I grabbed my gun and gave him a good shot in the nose with the butt of it but it didn't seem to bother him that much because he came back for seconds, this time I put the butt of my gun upside his face and kicked a couple of times to push him well off, still didn't bother him to much so I had to leave my fish and shaft with him because I had forgot my PPD on the boat. Got up to the boat explained the situation and decided to get my PPD and go back and try to find the spot I left the fish or at least back George up because he was still on the bottom. Long story short couldn't find the spot or George because of the vis and after getting back on the boat George said he had 3 sharks around him and skinned out too. After shaking off a bad first drop we moved well off the area and did another drop which I shot a limit of nice hogs and a couple of gags on. Even though the first drop didn't go well we still filled the cooler and the weather got better to with the sun coming out and the seas laying down.

I heard the redfish are running THICK right now. I didn't read what kind of sharks they were, but I know bulls usually run with the redfish.

I agree with BD, you gotta feed 'em the shaft. If you've got two spare shafts, I know some people that will take the flopper off of one and use that as their shark shaft. Bury it in their gills and they'll take off, usually leaving the shaft! Still gives you two primary shafts to hunt with.
