Practice. The more you dive the deeper and longer you will be able to stay down. Pool training wouldn't hurt either.

If you do any pool training, make sure you do it with a competent buddy. Never do any apnea exercises alone in water. People have died doing that. If you have the cash and time, I highly recommend taking the Performance Freediving course.

I was practicing all winter in the pool. I believe it let me dive to 70-90 foot without problems. Just came back from Key Largo..Was diving without tanks with scuba people on the wreck and made them nervous Really nice reefs out there All those ”Suggesters” that about how not to practice alone just a BS. Because they are suggesting all day alone, but when you ask them to take you out to the sea and show..They keep silence, like they can’t read in English. Do what you got to do. Do it yourself, just do not push limits to hard. Otherwise you shell never accomplish anything. Freedivers - the worse crowd I ever had to deal with. THE WORSE. Diving and practicing alone I made me a rule..”Always leave a little extra air and time reserve. You are still will progress, but less likely to have SWB. It is very difficult to find partners for doing it, so moving slow and with a little extra air in your lungs you still can go forward. My personnel experience. Good luck. If you want to know, how I practice in the pool or other little things I have learned, PM me .I shall share. If you come to NC to freedive, let me know. I already know where and how..and boats are available too. Good luck

That is absolutely ridiculous! That is how you get yourself killed....There are 6 different types of blackouts including SWB/Asceding blackout, Surface Black out, and Static Black out, all of which can occur at any time so why take the risk???

The absolute very best thing you can do to improve your depth and bottom time is taking the Performance Freediving class...Not only will you be AMAZED at everything you learn, but you will also realize the importance of ALWAYS having a buddy with you

If I would make $70 in hour, I could take that class, but look like someone "Too big in his own underwear"(British proverb) ) Prices my friend, prices..Not everyone can "Buy" that product I would be happy to take it, if I could buy it And you tell me. Does the class eluminates all 6 types of SWB? I just red book about it, where everything get explained pritty well about different SWB. In fact, I think I am more safe being carefull, knowing I have no one to count on then yahoos, that think that course is elumninating a need of practising every day. That what I do, total 4 Km in a pool plus diving And of couse vodka + beer on weekends) LOL..BTW..People die on everyday bases in US. 40000 on the hways anual 38000 because of limonia - Ding-Ding? ) May be that is because they did not finish that course? ) Sorry, I am just smiling here. Nothing personal. Yes, it is beter to do it together, but it is almost imposible to find someone to freedive with, unless you let them to "milk" you ) So do what men do..Do it yourself, slowly and carfully. Join if you can find a partner. I think we have few people around MC that like doing it on a weekend bases. We should stick together. The day will come, when I am going to meet some of people I wrote and ask for help with a freediving, and they just ignored it. The day will come, when I am not going to give them a hand on public, I shell explain why. Those people are very active writers on the board, but all that is show off..And I am just ignoring there posts. You can ask me:"Do they have to help to you? Do they have to take you out to sea? - NO But they do not also have to BS on the boards, trying to make impration of the "Good guys, trying to help" - because they are not ) And some of them even worse, they trying to make money playing on the subject of dangerosity of the sport ) Damn, what a speach..And I am at work and did not even had a one beer ) LOL

The reason you cant find any buddies to dive with is because YOU are one of those "YAHOOS" who cares nothing about anyone else's safety.
But whatever, good luck with your diving!
