Default Problems with Ears, need tips

Hey guys, I've been freediving for awhile now and have never had problems clearing my ears, lately I've been struggling getting them cleared. Does anyone have any advice for like the day before the dive or during the dive to make clearing easier? Thanks!

Do you have allergies? The reason I ask is because of the time of year. Claritin or some other kind of decongestant may help if that's the case. Helps me anyway.

Musinex, start days before and stay away from milk products for days before. If that doesnt work, pro plug are the bomb. We sell loads of them in the past ten years and not one person was unhappy! Eight sizes, get fitted correctly and off you go.

Mucinex blue starting 5 days before dive.

Nasonex and Zyrtec if you have allergies.

Antibiotics if you have a sinus infection.

Afrin the morning of the dive helps too.

And sudafed as a last resort.

This allergy season was brutal for me. A pharmacist turned me on to Flonase and it's been a life saver. I used to take sudafed because it was the only thing that worked. But felt like a OTC junky due of all the pseudoephedrine in it.

Like everyone else said, Mucinex is great too but does not help me much with allergies.

How do proplugs make it any easier? Just keep the water off the ear. But you still have to clear correct?
