    Default Lake Ouachita

Does anyone have any general info on Lake Ouachita, AR? I am thinking about driving up there one weekend to check it out.

Generally fairly clear. One of the best in the state!

If you are still interested in information on Lake Ouachita, we have a spear fishing tournament usually the first Saturday after the fifteenth of June. Our season starts June 15th. We can shoot any fresh water fish, except flathead catfish, but can shoot them after the 15th of July. I've done spearfishing charters for years and have roughly 4000 dives on Lake Ouachita. Our fish usually are in depths of 12 to 30 feet. Our water temp is 60 degrees at 40 feet, and up to 85 degrees at surface. Our thermacline fluctuates between 12 and 30 foot depending on the season. Our limit is 1/2 the rod and reel limit for each specie of fish. If interested in any more specific information, just ask!

    Cool

Season doesn't actually close til March 15 then opens again June 15. AND YOU CAN'T SHOOT SMALL MOUTH BASS!!!!!!!! Large mouth and spotted bass are legal but have to be 13 inches in length.

Any details on the tournament in June? Are there any good sized stripers in this lake?
