Default Ebay scam? Need help...

Regarding the bike I have for sale for $1800, this guy purchased it using buy it now.

Q: I just purchased your item now and will be sending payment from NY. The payment will include the cost for the item and shipping cost, so once you receive the payment, deduct the cost of the item and send the balance to the shipper. You will not receive any deposit upfront because you will only receive payment in full. I have a shipper, who is going to take care of the shipping, so don’t bother about the shipping Please send your name, address and Phone number where you want the payment to be sent to. Thanks Rodney

My response:
Rodney,

I am a bit cautious about this, as you have zero feedback and are asking to complete the transaction out of the ebay channels that protect me as a seller, from out of state. You should have contacted me first to discuss this. I will require a non-refundable paypal deposit within 24 hours of the time the auction closed, and CASH ONLY at the time of shipping, as well as your full name, address, and Drivers License number/state for the bill of sale.

Are you in agreement to these terms, or at the minimum, the terms listed contractually in the auction?

Thanks
Steve

You're response should phish him out if it's a scam though.

It is a scam. Its very common on online classified ad sites such as www.craigslist.org here is a link describing the scam. http://www.craigslist.org/about/scams

Good luck with your sell.

Aloha,
Chad

1.full name on the check.

3.City, State and Zip Code
4.Home & Cell Phone to contact you.

You can setup your Ebay account to not accept bids from people with zero or negative feedback.

That is a blatant scam. Stay away from that guy.
