No. 16 in nation for BB doesn't rank up in the "suck" zone but UCF did beat them last night

I agree with your above post but to compare a SEC year-end record with a Big East year-end record is like comparing a Thoroughbred racehorse with a Greyhound.

Now when USF and UCF are ranked higher than UF in the Coaches poll at the end of the year most UF fans (and FSU, UM) must acknowledge that times are a changin' for Florida collegiate sports.

Congrats on the win over UM BTW, that will be huge for your recruiting.

Well the first half of your post is logical but I think you are getting carried away at the end. UF isn't going anywhere. They have been around for awhile and have quite a few national championships in the past decade. (basketball and football). Hopefully USF and UCF get better players from the state but facilities, coaches and support for the program will not get close to UF.

Coaches and support will not get close to UF? C'mon. I'm not saying that UF is going to fall off as a national title contender, just that UF, FSU, and UM are no longer the top tier programs in the state (as we've seen from USF's performance the past couple yrs.). The support for both programs (USF and UCF) is there and is growing substantially, I guess you most likely missed this article.

Yeah, your right Chawk, Skip Holtz is a nobody here at USF and from what I have been hearing USF's facilities are becoming some of the best and still getting better. They are no longer working out of a "tool shed". By the way, I sure wish USF had a brilliant offensive coordinater like UF has. Urban Meyer sure has a lot more to work with talent wise than USF or UCF, so how good is he really? Without Tebow, he doesn't look real good.

Skip is definately an upgrade. I know everyone wants to get all their hate for UF out now because they are down but I was just saying that USF and UCF still have a ways to go. Fact is the SWAMP is known by most everyone in the southeast and has tradition. The other schools mentioned do not have that and will struggle to recruit top guys because of that.

All I'm saying is that UF has been relevant for a long time. USF and UCF haven't won shit. If you were getting recruited would you rather play in the SEC in a college town or tampa/orlando and their respective conferences? Have a shot at a NC or have battles with Rutgers, Pitt, Houston?

Yes UF has had a down year this year, they lost a lot of good players last year. But to think that there is even a remote possibility that UCF or USF has supplanted them is ludicrous at best. I think Tebow's replacement was caught cheating and is now one game away from playing for the National Championship. I'll make a bet with anyone that UF wins another football national championship before USF or UCF does. Cmon boys put your money where your mouth is.

Jesus, you guys really have taken this to another level.

I know it's been a down year for UF but no one is stating the following:

That USF or UCF are going to be winning any NC anytime soon.

That USF or UCF has the talent depth that UF has.

I know it's hard for many UF fans to understand the difference between EARNING a good program verses INHERITING one and my orginal intent of the thread was just to personally gloat in UCF's success on the basketball court in beating UF. In order to run with the best you eventually have to beat them and it's obviously a great accomplishment for a young UCF BB team.

No one is attempting to take anything away from the almighty UF

Not trying to take anything away from UCF's win the other night. They played hard and wanted the win more that night. Lets see how they both end up at the end of the season.
