Spearboard use to be loaded with dive reports and good info, now there is hardly anything. If fact this morning the site was even down. What is up? Maybe this site will pick up where Spearboard has left off.

Spearboard is down for me right now too. I'm glad to hear it isn't personal.
For what its worth, I think the CA forum of Spearboard still has more trip reports and other posts such as equipment questions and discussions than Planet does. And when I've posted identical trip reports for three different days this week, I get more comments and replies on Spearboard than on Planet. I'm not trying to say that people are obligated to reply to my trip reports on either site, or that one is better than the other. I think its just a matter of most California members of Spearboard not being involved in the recent fracas. I bet a majority don't even know that anything happened, and don't know about this site. If guys just read their local forum, they don't see all the bitching and moaning.

Anyway, I hope we can get past those regional resentments here and focus on the thing we share- spearfishing. A policy that doesn't tolerate name calling and personal attacks would go a long way toward achieving that goal. BTW, I called Nate Baker (tomol) and asked him about Spearboard being down, and he said it was for a previously scheduled software up grade. I would think Tony would have posted notices of that all over the board so that there wouldn't be a repeat of the suspicions and accusations resulting from the last down period.

I swore I would not comment regarding the clown again, but it certainly appears that he is doing everything in his POWER to HELP this website. Who knows about today, true breakdown or another purge? Stalinist Spearboard?

I now treat it like I treat FS, they've both gone down the same road. I don't even bother giving them the hits so I don't help their advertising revenue, since that's ALL THAT MATTERS anyway.

Bill,
I think you're making a bigger deal out of it than it actually is. The fruit and nut stuff is just ribbing. |

"Can't we all just get along ?"
maybe there is just too much testosterone here and we need to encourage more female spearos-keep those hormones in-check with a co-ed 'dive' buddy.

But you do every time you post because of your avatar
![]() I love the CA members, it's a different ocean, different fish and different methods of hunting. More speargun innovations come from that sect of people than anywhere else. I hope they all come here. |

Bill I am in California I read the California posts because they have a lot of information about diving and hunting conditions and techniques which apply to the area I can dive easly. I like to read the other posts they are interesting like a good fishing story. If I only have a few minutes I read about loacl conditions and reports over some guy doing a technical dive over a wreck in the atlantic. I do not dislike Florida, I would love to go there some day. It just appears the east coast styles of diving differ from the west coast styles. I would assume most people read posts which are geographicly closer to them first. I think most people know not everyone in california is a gay tree hugger, and only most of florida is over 100. ![]() Myrel C. Willeford |

Bill, I'm sorry to hear that some of the CA guys feel that way. We are open to any suggestions you might have to bridge the gap. There is no preferences here to freedive, scuba, west coast, east coast, etc. We are here to share resources and communicate relating to the sport we all love. Be sure that your CA connections have all been contacted with links to our new home and let's build it together for the benefit of everyone.
