Default First time

I haven't quite popped the cherry on the spearfishing thing...unless you count the rock fish(that is my version of saying I got my shaft stuck between two rocks)...but we went out to the jetties yesterday and vis was about 1-1.5 feet...I didn't quite catch anything but have a huge appreciation more than I did before. I enjoyed going out but my first lesson was, wetsuit and weights...the whole buoyancy issue...with the two piece I didn't have enough weight...without the jacket I had too much...

lesson learned...make sure to get an accurate assessment before you get into water with pretty good currents...

But as I was informed although the conditions sucked I had fun...meaning it only gets better than this

Glad to see another person learn the joys of trying to catch a meal under the surface. Just remember to be careful and dont take risks. Its dangerous enough by itself no need to introduce more ways to hurt yourself. It sounds like you are taking it slow and learning one step at a time which is smart. Good luck to you and Im sure you will be posting a pic soon of your first fish.
