So I've searched and searched and either I'm a bad searcher or not many people have asked a topic like this. So I know what equipment I need, I know where to spear and I've read all the basic tips on it. I've been once so at least I've gone out but my question is after you have speared a fish, then what? I know you're supposed to kill the fish with a knife but then what? I have stringers from normal fishing and I know friends that spear that put their fish on a stringer but what do you do while your spearing? Do you tie the stringer around you and just let the fish dangle on your side or do you mount the stringer somewhere and hope some fish or bird doesnt come steal them. I've heard of the use of bags as well. My dad lived in hawaii for a while and used to spear there and said if you didnt bag them quick enough sharks would hover you quickly. I will mostly spear at the end of a jetty at a group of rocks off wrightsville beach, nc if anyone knows where it's at. I cant really take a cooler and just chill with it there to keep the fish fresh either. What do you guys do? I was thinking a trash bag in my pocket might be able to hold them if I want to bag them.
    Thanks for the help

Whats up man. Where to start first what stringer do you want to use either rope or metal, I use a metal stringer and I attach it to my gun that way the fish stay with me but not on me some people hook the stringer to them its really your preference. You can also use a bag that has a one way opening and tie the bag off to something on the jetty and shoot and bag, I wouldn't recommend using a trash bag though.

I think if i were spearing a jetty i would try to tie my stringer off some where and bring my fish back to it. Move it as necessary, as i worked different areas.
    Good luck
