This is indeed intriguing, and if successful, this will be a huge deal.

However, I have some questions regarding the feasibility of this. The story only mentioned oxygen being stored in the mini tank, which would obviously not work for any of the dives that we do.

Also, what is the volume of water that would need to pass by the gills in order to get a lungful of air? Obviously, this would increase at depth, so the volume of water that would need to pass through the gill for every breath could be huge.

I don't know the answers, but I'm highly skeptical that this technology actually exists.

It is concept design that doesn't exist. It would be very cool if it did...

I had very similar thoughts....the 02 toxicity was first. Then the ability of the device to keep up with diver's breathing rate.

Even if you can only go down to 40 or 50 feet and cruise, that would be the coolest thing EVER!!

I don't care if I can spear or not. Just to be able to swim the reef line and patches in clear water on a nice summer day.

That would be haven to me...

I can agree with just cruising shallow reefs. That would be amazing.
