Default Mounted Lights on SpearGun? Tactical SpearGuns?

Hey guys, I am new here but not to spearfishing. Just wondering what you guys like to mount on your guns? Do you have flashlights, spare shaft holders, Kill Spikes ext? Or do you like to keep it simple and only have the basic necessities? I haven't seen much out there for tactical options other than the ocean rhino, but I dive with a Rob Allen. There are some different mounts and options by SpearMount at SpearMount.com for the Rob Allen and other guns. Like some Kill Spikes, and Light mounts.

I shoot an Ocean Rhino, so I guess you could say all of the above.
I've got a flashlight mounted on the muzzle kill spike, two spare shafts, another kill spike in the handle. Either carry a powerhead on my BC, or on the gun. Still playing with what I like best there.

I almost always have a light on my Mako guns. I made a plastic mount, and I like it better than aluminum mounts because I can quickly slide it back towards the handle when I don't need it. That way, it doesn't affect the balance of the gun, and there's one less thing at the muzzle for shooting line to get tangled on.

I'm trying to figure out if anyone makes a better light mount for the AB Biller guns - the one designed for it is unfortunately also designed to only be used with one particular type of light, which sucks.

My Ocean Rhino muzzle on my other Biller works great as a mount as I just use the muzzle kill spike as a mount.

May have to buy another OR muzzle and replace my 42" biller's muzzle with it.

Any problem with the line attached to a line shaft getting tangled or caught on the light/mount?

The upgrade of biller or seahornet guns to the Ocean Rhino muzzle is the best thing you can do to those guns. The comm muzzle makes the gun more accurate/precise (there is a difference between accuracy and precision), as well as affording the muzzle spike and light mount. I've installed a few of them. You just need to make sure the track and muzzle line up correctly.

That is the most pressing issue with lights on spearguns. Our current light adapters enable you to minimize this risk. However, I am going to release a new light system for Ocean Rhino Spearguns in the next 6 months or so that will completely eliminate any line entanglement issues with the light. Stay tuned..........

This is my setup...had a bud modify a muzzle spike so that I could still use my spike with the light attached. We even had him thread it so that we have an option of where the PH goes if we decide we are taking one with us. We have tried various lights that put off a ton of light but make the gun too muzzle heavy or those that are small but don't put out enough light....can't wait to see what Kevin has up his sleeve. Never had an issue of the line becoming tangled with the light.

I like having my GoPro mounted on the end of my biller.

That's a really good idea. I like how you put that together.

    Hello,
I have a mount from spearmount.com on my gun. It seems that spearmount.com is out of business? Anybody know what flashlight they sold with their mount? or where I can get one?

    Thanks

These will be available by the end of August 2016. If you are interested you can subscribe to the SoCal Spear-It youtube channel for news (such as when/where/how to purchase).

I know this is an old thread but does anyone know the manufacturer that made the flashlight for spearmount? Just curious it was not a great light but not bad either and I would like to replace it. I can't find anything on the website....
