    Default Speargun holder question

Anyone know what these tubes are that were used to make this gun holder? Looking to make something similar but all I can find is round PVC.

I've seen guys use the plastic fencing post covers to make gun racks, it came out looking kinda nice. The one you pictured may have started out as round PVC, heated and formed to shape. I have used a PVC heater for bending large tubing/pipe, that would do it, but your not going to do this with a heat gun, at least not reasonably.

    Default PVC SpearGun Holder

Don't need special equipment for PVC just heat in your oven at 225 degrees F and it becomes very pliable then shape and let cool. The great thing is, if you don't like the results, just re-heat to 225 and the PVC springs back to original shape.

I made a jig with a piece of 2x4 and used screws as legs so I could experiment with height to squish the round PVC to an oval to fit the butt of the spear gun and then replicate So take the floppy hot PVC out of the oven (use oven mitts), lay it on wood and use 2x4 jig to shape to desired size oval and hold down 'til it cools and holds shape. Then make slots in the shaped PVC, a surform tool works great to shape it up after rough cutting. One thing, be sure and put a bolt through the bottom or stop it up somehow as the the butt of the gun will go through and is a bear to get out while bouncing around on a boat.

Also great way to make other stuff like knife scabbards out of PVC

    Duhhh...
    Use the oven!
...I was stuck in a rut thinking about 10' lengths of pipe ( which I have done a Ton of ),,
Short pieces like this would be an easily fit in an oven.
    Great Idea.
