Default Mrs Cindy Crawfords Letter of thanks to our Dive Community

Lauren, Kelley and I wanted to thank each participant in the 2011
Louisiana State Freediving Championships for dedicating the proceeds
to the Wm. F. Crawford Scholarship at LSU. We were so touched when we
were told that you were doing this. There is no way to put into words
how much the care and compassion from the diving community has helped
us as we have dealt with losing Bill. For you all to reach out to us
and let us know that Bill's life meant something to you and that he
will be remembered means so much to us. Each note, visit, phone
call, post on the boards, and now this donation to the scholarship is
appreciated from the bottom of our hearts.

In December, Tracy Morris presented the check from the Rodeo to John
McGehee from LSU. At the same ceremony, Georgia-Pacific made a
donation from their annual motorcycle rally fundraiser. With these
donations, the scholarship reached endowed status and there is enough
over that amount so that the scholarship can be presented beginning
this spring for the 2012-2013 school year. Normally, it would have to
accrue enough interest to pay for that scholarship. I am so thankful
that we will be able to meet the first recipient so soon. Thank you
so much for making that happen! Bill's dad, who will be 94 in April,
is planning on being there for this presentation and he is thrilled
about it! Your donation has allowed the scholarship to become active
immediately.

Diving, spending time in the water, getting ready for trips, talking
techniques and fish with other divers, all gave Bill so much pleasure.
Thank you to this great Louisiana Diving community for making that
possible for Bill to enjoy. And, thank you all for helping make this
scholarship a reality and for helping Lauren, Kelley and I with all of
your kindnesses and generosity. You will all always be in our hearts!

Cindy Crawford

Hey Guys
I have received a few inquiries as to the easiest way to make a donation for the "William F. Crawford Scholarship fund" for Coastal Engineering.

So I am reposting the link for those that would like to make a gift online by going to:

https://www.lsufoundation.org/contribute.php

-Choose College of Engineering In Gift Designation and in the other info field put "William F. Crawford Scholarship". This will insure the right scholarship fund will receive your donation.

The students Awarded the William F. Crawford scholarship will learn about his love for the coast while pursuing thier own passion and education. So please help us to honor a true legend in the sport of Freedive spearfishing and contribute to a great cause.
