Looking for a few Freediving Spearfsihing Buddys for Ocean City, MD area and Chesapeake Bridge Tunnel Area. I live near Kent Island. I am an avid boater and fisherman. For about 4 or 5 years I have been spearfishing in NC around some pilings and docks sucessfully as well as a few days in the FL keys. So I have some spearfishing experience but not alot. I feel confident down to 30 feet with regular fins. Currently I am looking into some long fins in an attempt to explore deeper. Currently, I have been spearfishing with my son but now that he is getting older he has his own schedule and isn't always available when I am available to go. My boat, your boat, or I can follow you while in my boat... From shore works too... Thanks....

Grauwer... thanks I really want to explore the area near me as often as my schedule allows and NC and FL Keys a few times a year. I'm only about a 1.5 to 2 hr drive to the ocean and would even go and return the same day to keep cost and time minimized as needed or make weekend runs also. Just looking forward to more time in the water and less time staring at a windshield . For me spearfishing kind of brings all of the things I like together (Boating, fishing, snorkling, diving, and hunting) all in one package!

So im new to the sport but im from annapolis i would like to go any chance i get. I spen alot of time in oc. I am prior uscg and i also do some scuba. Actual lived on KI for awhile

I'm in NOVA area and want to pick up the sport. I was an avid swimmer/ snorkeler in Bermuda as a kid and have been surfing, and doing other water sports since. I go fishing 3-4 times a week and take road trips for fishing it least once a month all year round.

Funds are low and I like investing in quality gear so I tend to end up with the best of the best from the start of any venture I get into. I like to buy things once and not have to resell them later to set up a notch.

If anyone would like to meet up or mentor a new spear fisherman, I'd really appreciate it.

I only have a wetsuit right now, working on the rest of my gear. But its always nice to meet new people and I'm willing to lend a helping hand whenever and wherever I can.

I have a couple great Striper and snakehead spots I frequent.

I take direction well, learn fast, resourceful.....

I live in Southern Maryland and have been traveling down to NC to spear for the past 3-4 yrs. Sometimes I go out of Ocean City but it's only like 2-3 times a summer, if that. My Dad keeps his boat in Southport, NC and on good weather weekends we travel down and go for NC hogs and lobster.

I always felt like there should be a spearfishing club for shooters in Maryland/DC area. I've thought about starting one but never ran with it. If we had one it would be perfect for area spearos to plan trips and learn about shooting.

We just do scuba and sometimes we have a hard time getting a 3rd or 4th on the boat so if anyone is interested in traveling down to NC shoot me a message and we'll stay in touch.

For Ocean City I usually hop on OC Dive Boat for spearing trips...which is scuba also.

I've done some shallow freediving in the Keys but don't do anything deeper than 30 ft or so. I worry about SWB so in order to go deeper and hold my breath longer I would like to take a course sometime to learn everything.

I'm down. I was in the OBX all weekend (thurs-sun) camping out, fishing, and scouting out fish around the pilons at the inlet. I have 2 friends that want to get into it also.

I watched 2 guys pul out 2 36" stripers. Freediving/ spearfishing.

I have been pole spearing snakeheads lately.

I'm in NOVA as well, and am looking for spearfishing (freedive) buddies as I currently just go solo. Going to be in OBX last week of June if anyone's interested. Have a zodiac and am looking forward to checking out some wrecks.

Headed to Fl for the week of the 4th. Otherwise id be game.

Hello to all. I'm in the Norfolk VA area and am looking for a dive partner also. My regular dive buddy was deployed overseas for the next 9 months, so I'm looking for someone to free dive or dive with. I have been spearing for about 4 years and have been diving for over 20yrs. I am a Navy Rescue swimmer and am pretty comfotable in the water. I have my own boat (18 ft C/C) that is great for working the Islands or hit the Ches light tower. I'm in ocean city, md and always down to do some spearing! I'm moving up to longbeach ny soon tho. I have not successfully did any on the east coast due to the awful vis. I learned this last year doing lots of shore dives in around oahu in Hawaii. I haven't gone that deep maybe only 15-20 foot. I have tried about 5 times up and down the coast from florida to here and I always get skunked with not being able to see past the end of my gun. If you think its good to dive in the next couple weeks I'm into it!
