Default VA trip this summer

I'm going to be heading up to VA this summer to visit my girlfriend's family. I will be staying in Wachapreague and heading out for a couple of fishing trips for tuna, wahoo, etc. I plan on bringing up my freediving gear and a gun and hopefully getting to jump in for some bluewater. I wanted to see what I can expect for conditions up there and if anyone is willing to help me out with some public numbers for wrecks or general areas in shallower. Also what kind of fish can I expect on the wrecks/ledges, typical grouper, snapper, hogs, AP? Thanks!

Get up with some guys from the Mid Atlantic Freedive Club in VB. They should def be able to help you out. They have a website and meet monthly.

No such thing as hogs or snapper here, man. Most fish speared are spadefish, sheepshead and some cobia. Bluewater's starting to get good right about now... hope you're up here for it.

No hogs or snappers and the only groupers in VA are way far down where it's too dark to see and the pressure's immense. We do have cobia, amberjack, black drum, blue fish, tautog, flounder, and spadefish. But if it's groupers and hogs yah want I suggest NC or SC. Either Outer Banks or Charleston.
