its a nice video but not 1st place IMO





IMO Nolan's Videos should have taken 1st

I really appreciate the kind words. I think a SFP contest would be a pretty sweet idea and it would showcase alot of the talent this board has in it. This is me first time seeing the 1st place video and I enjoyed it. I think it started a little slow and maybe lacked the carnage I was expecting but I always love seeing foreign waters and the different tactics used for different fish. Always fascinating!

at first i thought you didnt place cause of the 3 min time limit but the 1st place was like 3:46 so now im really confused. They rejected a few of my videos just cause of the time limit.

I dont think I will ever know the real reason but as long as everyone else enjoys it then I cant complain. I had fun making it so Im just happy to share it.

I think you are dead on about the talent on this board, Nolan. Just to give you all a heads up, we are putting the finishing touches on the FSDA Southern Open State Championships (Spearfishing and Underwater Photography/Video) and we are really excited about expanding the underwater video competition. The photo/video contest will run for approximately four weeks in May ending a week before the Championship weigh-in and awards on June 16th. The video upload is on youtube allowing videographers from all over the state to participate. This is the 50th anniversary of FSDA holding the state championships so we will have some extra special surprises to be announced soon. It is cool to win a contest but to put the words "state champion" on your resume is pretty nice too

Watched both vids & IMO Nolan had it. I enjoyed the more actual spearing of fish Nolan's vid had. Don't get me wrong it was a good vid, but I wanted to see more fish getting speared

No disrespect to the other videos, but I am still scratching my head about why Nolan wasn't included.

Another person brought this up on my facebook...I originally uploaded on private and submitted it according to the rules. 1 week before the expo Dimitri (the head judge) posted the names of the top 10 finalists. I was not included in that list so I went ahead and took my video off private so I could share it with everyone. No sense in waiting for the final results if I wasnt even chosen in the top 10.

I raised the issue about the winning video surpassing the time limit to Sheri and she said she was looking into it. However the fact that the judging was extremely biased really disappointed me and from now on I will be sure to not waste my time with the blue wild video contest. The photo judging went off without a single hitch, yet the video portion seems to be awfully controversial.

I am of the of the opinion that the entries shouldn't be listed on Youtube so that the video makes money per view. Just my $0.02

That video is awesome Nolan. The meanest gag in the gulf and the bull shark at the rube should be made into large still shots. I will never forget that shark!
