Default home engineered carbon fiber pole question

Hey guys obviously im new to this board, but not new to forums so HELLO GUYS!

Recently i decided to sell all my belongings and my company and invest in a home in bocas del toro panama. Im done with the US and Utah for a while.

Now the backgrounds out of the way, i was looking into pole spearing as a good provider of food (mainly lionfish ) and a good hobby while i snorkel

so i built a fairly simple little 36" Carbon fiber lion tamer, it isnt too special stats are:
one piece .503" OD over total length with a CF 8" internal reinforced rear then a 316 SS loop hole in the rear. the mid section has a 12" CF internal reinforcement( a little less than 2/3 the way up right where i designed grip) then the front has a 6" 316 SS core with a 5/16" -24 unf tip which will be fitted with a paralyzer.

this pole isnt the one i have a question on. that thing is built like a tank and will do its job well

the one i do have a question on is a 7' pole its specs are:
.503 OD through the whole pole. 12" rear internal reinforced with a 316 SS loop. 12" centered internal reinforcement at 2' from the back and 2' centered from the front. weight currently is .54lbs (with out core or tip, planning on an SS2)

the front of the pole is what i have questions on. with that info above the pole has a buoyancy of +1.93 lbs

in order to keep the pole the lightest (fastest acceleration possible) i am at a quandary of what length i should cut my 316SS core. the SS weighs .214 lbs per foot. there isnt really much info i can find on buoyancy of other poles, but i do hear its best to have a pretty neutral pole (but i dont see that being possible with the Riffe, Lightning Rod , and other CF poles). So should i keep it minimal as possible and not worry about the float and go for speed, or should i try to balance the system?

Thanks in advanced for your thoughts and ideas
    Brian

side note, why do hog fish have such large jaws? i read into their species and didnt see anything on it....

I can't give you the info on you pole spear questions, but my opinion on hogfish is their jaw is for leverage for their diet!

    Default Bocas?

Now that is interesting - have you been to Bocas del Toro? I grew up in Panama (Canal Zone) and made the trip to Bocas a few times but as I recall, now it has been a long long time, but as I recall it was/is a pretty small town. Beautiful water and diving for sure. I was not aware that the Lion Fish had reached there but I guess it is possible.

    Good luck in Panama!
