    Default Help with polespear ID

So I ran across a polespear and I have no idea the brand and value of it. I didn't think at the time to snap a few pics, but I will describe it as best as I can. It was a black three piece pole with a single flopper tricut tip that was approximately 12". The tip would be pushed into the pole and locked in place with a set screw. I saw some like this but they had rounded ends and this spear had a tapered end that was chrome where the tip mounted. It was a larger diameter than the smaller fiberglass ones I've used before. It had that tennis grip wrap on it to aid in holding on when cocked, but this could have been added after being purchased by original owner.

Anyways thanks for any direction you could point me in. The closest resemblance I could find is the manny puig spear. Just wondering if it's a very good spear and what's a decent asking price.

Either a Puig or a Crist Sounds like anyway. I think Puig is solid rod, and I know Crist is hollow pipe.

I know who made it. When you say 3-pc is it 3 poles and a shaft or 2 poles and a shaft? Ive made them with SS fronts since '08 before that it was aluminum. Pole is 3/4" tubing. Puig is a copy from the Henley and its larger at 7/8" OD tubing and take screw in shafts.

I started the setscrews to hold shafts back in '01 and a couple companies have started using this as well but none are black ano.

The 12" shaft has me questioning the spear as I never sold this length with 12" shafts but it could of been a custom length and order. Its' $285 new if its a 3-pc 7.5' spear.
If you pick it up text, call, or email me any questions you might have. You may be missing the maintenance kit that comes with it and I can send one free of charge.

    Good luck.

Yeah it's the crist. I'll try to get back up there and see if I can get it a bit cheaper.

Awesome. I'll definitely do that if it's still available. I'm gonna have deviated septum surgery Wednesday so idk how long I will be down.

I am thinking it was three piece and a long tip so four all together. And it may be shorter than 12" tip but it's just rather long 8"+.

Shaft is an odd one but ive made them all sizes from 3" to 4'. Could of been for when the spear is just used as a 2-pc 5' spear like for flounder/halibut.

So I picked the polespear up yesterday. I texted mr crist about it and it is indeed his Zeus polespear. 7.5 foot three piece with an 18 inch shaft. It didn't have a band with it so I ordered a band through him and he's hooking me up with a maintenance kit for it as well. I'm new to polespears and I'm anxious to use it. It might make some of yall sick to know what I paid for it. 37 bucks plus tax and 20 bucks for a band.
