Default World record on Scuba Black Grouper

I shot this fish October 30, 2004 on a wreck off Miami Beach in 145' of water. I used an AB Biller 48" double banded (9/16" or 5/8" can't remember) Mahogany gun. Used a 5/16" AB Biller double barb tri-cut spear head. The fish weighed in (Haulover Marina) at 100 lbs exactly. Since I only just heard of this group there isn't anyway of proving it except from diving friends with me on that day and a mention of it on a spearfishing website SPEARFISHFLORIDA - SPEARFISHING -  Your online resource to spearfishing in Florida. . I have never heard of a bigger black taken freediving or on scuba so I will try and claim it as a world record. Thanks

Default Black Grouper (west coast)

I've been living out of the States for over 6 years now so you are right I am clueless about Florida West Coast hunters. I would also like to know more about other potential World Record fish taken on Scuba. Like I said I haven't heard about a bigger Black (than mine) taken by spear freediving or otherwise. To me it's all fun followed by good eating.

Heck no! The 100lb carbo club is a small one, you should be very proud.

Nice fish - I can't recall anyone on the east coast shooting a 100 pounder. Welcome to the Planet!

Even on this side, where big blacks are often taken, a 100 lb plus black is still few and far between.

To the best of my knowledge, Paul Renner has the world record for Black Grouper (on scuba) at 122lbs.

Same fish as in my Avatar showing me kissing it. But it does look bigger in the one I originally posted with it on the ring doesn't it Lol. Thanks guys for all the compliments. One day I need to visit your side of the state. Hunting looks awesome over there. Coming back from the Philippines (to Miami) in June for a few months and can't wait to do some hunting and lobstering. Ain't nothing worth hunting in this country anymore. All the big fish here are fished out or spooked down to 175' plus. Sad.

A Louisiana female diver Abbi (can't member her last name) shot a 100 plus pound AJ. When she found out there was no world record glory for scuba divers she started a scuba world record deal and Zacker is the VP. Im kinda wasted so Im sorry for the lack of details.I talked to Abby tonite when I called Rok and they were trashed in the notorious Rok garage.
I told her from jump the freedive hippes would give her hell but she stuck it out and got it going. BTW I freedive. When I sober up a little I will post her email. She ans Zacker got a good thing going ! I mean the scuba records.

He got those from Brittany Spears,(supposedly-or they are the same kind she wears) and has to wear them whenever a pic is taken of him and a fish. But he might have chased you down in Key West to get them, a skinny one!

You may need to talk to the CEO of the 100 pound carbo club. Recognize!
