Not sure how many of you are aware of this document?

It pretty much explains to me where all this FISHERY, SANCTUARY, CONTROL CRAP is coming from.

It's Called Vision 2020 (started in 2006 and published in 2007)

Growth in populations and coastal tourism are resulting in increasing numbers of recreational fishermen. Therefore, the impact these fishermen are having on fish stocks is increasing. As this demand for recreational fishing continues to increase, recreational fishermen will request increases in fish allocated to the recreational sector.

WTF the recreational catch is nil compared to commercial but that isn't the argument here. This is the snapshot of the mindset and mentality of those that want to close BOTH.

"By 2020 continued growth in recreational angling will require that anglers focus more on the fishing experience and less on the number of fish landed".

Fishing experience not catching experience, certainly NOT SPEARFISHING. Maybe we can go VIRTUAL, play frigging video games or just be happy watching Blue Planet, Geographic or the Animal Planet. WTF? That would satisfy my "fishing experience" how about you?

By 2020, angler satisfaction is derived from the recreational fishing experience rather than the take or “kill” fish.

Maybe we can swim around with nets. Catch, take a picture and release?

"It is conceivable that the cumulative total of post-release mortality could increase to levels equal to the total allowable mortality for a fishery."

In other words even catch and release mortality might exceed quotas and thus ALL FISHING is shut down.

The U.S. government has responsibility to work with other nations to maintain healthy highly migratory and high seas stocks. Eliminating illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing practices is a global agenda.

In other words because we know that China, Japan, India, Korea, Africa and the European Sector for the most part will not and cannot control their fisheries, we will cut ours back to save the planet. Lets give the UN a stake in NOAA and even more control over our sovereignty. UFB!

This shit goes on and on...but now it all makes perfect sense!

How a relatively benign, apolitical, and trusted agency such as NOAA can turn into this political machine is beyond belief. A little over a year ago some of these environmental groups were listed as domestic terrorists, now they are working for the Government.

I wan't my country back.

I have never been a big believer in multilevel conspiracy theories. With every thing I've seen in the past year some of those "previously" CRAZY sounding folks might be touching onto something?

The video ending, although amusing was a little whacked in my opinion and somewhat discredited what preceeded it.

Either way, the video touches on points that bear further research. Thank you for providing it!

Too many folks read or hear something and automatically take it as gospel without asking any questions. I'd be willing to say that this wholesale ignorance has gotten us to where we are today. Mainstream media is playing into this stupidity.

The way things are heading, my biggest fear is that sooner or later this will reach a breaking point (people are going to start losing it) and spill out onto the streets. And unfortunately something like that will be the EXCUSE they need to implement FURTHER CONTROL, i.e., Marshal Law, suspending Habeus Corpus, etc.

All it takes is to see the government
take something away from a friend to
see that we are headed in the wrong
direction and the conspiracy theorists,
as they are called by people who do
not believe the government is in a bad way,
and you will believer that our government
is to big and deserve a certain uptick in
attention to their actions.
