I have a 120 cm Picasso Century and a 90 cm Marc Valentin (similar to your gun). Your gun should serve you very well if you dive in murky water or hunt fish in holes and caves. My 90 cm gun has collectively taken more fish than all of my other guns.

good to hear! yah im gonna be hunting mostly in norcal waters. i was told this would be a good gun for me. if i decided to take this gun down to clearer waters like around monterey area, how can i get more range from the gun? longer shaft? stiffer bands? add a reel?

Get a longer gun.

If you're serious about taking down game fish, go out with a game gun. You wouldn't shoot a moose with a .22, and you shouldn't shoot a white with your hole/rockfish gun. Just my .02. With regard to your 75, you shouldn't have a problem putting a hurt on the fish in Carmel with it. It's more than enough gun for rockfish, cabs, and lings. You should definitely look into adding a nice reel. A

lol ok. just curious. im not the richest guy so i try to get by with the least amount of equipment possible.
im not in a hurry to bag a wsb anytime soon. but the way everyone talks about them, sounds like a good time. just out of curiosity, what would be considered a "game gun"? |

I don't think that there's a single standard for "game guns," but the term generally refers to longer guns with heavier shafts and more band power that are capable of punching through big fish at range. Depending on the target species (and how much you love to buy new shafts), you may or may not rig the gamegun with a slip-tip.
