I have been looking around on here, the other forum that everyone seems to hate, the internet, and I can NOT find ANYTHING on reels for a Cyrano. I know there is an actual reel from Mares specially made for the Cyrano, but I have no idea if it is any good or not, because there are no reviews!
I will be shooting in 20-30 feet of freshwater most of the time, and possibly reefs on vacations to Key West. I am also going on vacation to South Carolina to a freshwater lake in upcountry SC (Lake Keowee), which is very deep I guess, so I may be able to shoot in 50 feet of water.
Basically what I am asking is what reel you guys would recommend. I'd like to do as little modification to anything as possible, but also have a rock-solid reel. I was looking at the Mares reel, the Omer Aluminum Match 30 & 50, a Rob Allen Vectra, a horizontal Riffe, and a JBL reel. Most of these require I hose clamp them to my gun, which is fine by me, I just want a quality reel that will last me as long as I have my gun. I think the Mares reel looks pretty solid:
Also while I am at it, what configuration would you guys recommend in terms of line? I have seen people with a full reel of dyneema, and then 2-1/2 wraps of mono which is attached to the spear. I'm down to do anything, I would just rather not have my gun attached to only 13 feet of line for some fat carp to drag into the depths.

Thanks
