    Default New chart plotter 411

Getting a new boat delivered soon & don't know what kind of chart plotter to get. The dealer is a garmin fan & I've used a 2010c for years. I like the new side scan feature but the dealer priced me with garmin 7212 which apparently doesn't have that capability. I got a price on 8212 which does but its a ton of $$ more. I'm diving in mostly 60' gulf waters so looking for ledges & breaks. I don't need something for deep but want good detail. Ideas?

Simrad or better priced lowrance great units. The hds ones. Good structure scan capabilities as well as integration with nmea2k for motor hook ups etc

Knot A Fear was selling a great Raymarine set up at a real fair price.

Look into the new 76xx series that is being released in the next couple weeks. Built in traditional sonar, chirp, sidescan and downscan, in a range of screen sizes. MUCH Cheaper that 8212, especially once you add in the black box sounder and additions to the 8K series. Much more geared towards the average recreational boat that tha 8K's which target the extreme high end of the market.

Second the 76xx. I bought a boat in December that did not have electronics and have been waiting for my 7610. I've done a lot of research and think they are the best out there for the money. I have my transducers, but no mfd yet...the agony is killing me.

I goy the same info from electronics supplier & bought 7612. Do you have the bluechart g2 vision ? It looks impressive, but I'm not sure if that's information overload.

My dive bud upgraded to the new 7612 screens and it was installed yesterday on his World Cat.
He wants the sell the setup that just came off his boat. Everything works properly.
It's a Garmin 3210 with GSD22 box, with transom transducer, Garmin RADAR with dome, and Standard Horizon VHF radio.
$1800 buys everything. Somebody should really want this for the money it's a great system.
